MapWise Inc. respects your privacy. To demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices, we have adopted industry leading privacy guidelines.
When using our web site ("Site"), you may provide us information such as your email address, name, title and mailing address so that we can provide enhanced products or services to you and to personalize your experience on our website. This online privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") describes how we use and protect information that you share with us. This policy governs our Site, but does not govern websites to which we may provide links, because we are not responsible, and can not control the privacy practices or content of those sites. We urge you at all times to use caution when providing information over the internet, and suggest that you read the Federal Trade Commission's suggested safety precautions for internet surfing.
a. Internet Data Collected. We automatically track and collect the following information when you visit our Site: (i) your domain name; and (ii) the web pages on our Site that you view or visit (collectively "Internet Data"). Internet Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you but is helpful for marketing purposes and for improving your experience on the Site. We also use cookies and similar tools, as section 13 describes.
b. Individual Identifying Information Collected. In order for you to purchase products that we offer via the Site, we require you to provide us with information that personally identifies you to enable us to complete the transaction ("Identifying Information"). Identifying Information may include Contact Data (such as your name, title, company, mailing and e-mail addresses). Online payment info is securely transmitted to our payment processor. We do not store Financial Data (such as your account or credit card number). If you communicate with us by e-mail or complete online forms, surveys, sweepstakes, or contest entries, any information provided in such communication may be collected as Identifying Information. You are not required to complete surveys, promotions, or otherwise provide Identifying Information to view web pages of our Site.
We may use Contact Data to email, mail, or call you via telephone to provide you with information about our company or our products or services. We use your Financial Data to bill you for products and services. We may use your Contact Data to customize and tailor your experience on the Site; displaying content that we think may interest you according to your preferences.
We will send Identifying Information about you to other companies or people when: (a) We have your consent to share the information; (b) We need to share the information in order to provide the product or service you have requested; (c) We need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of us to provide a product or service to you (unless we tell you differently, these companies do not have any right to use the Identifying Information we provide to them beyond what is necessary to assist us); (d) We respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process; (e) We find your actions on our Site violate any of our agreements with you; or (f) We measure our advertising, as section 13 describes.
You may choose not to provide us with any Identifying Information. In such an event, you can still access and use much of the Site; however you will not be able to access and use those portions of the Site that require your Identifying Information. If you do not wish to receive information and promotional material from us or from some of our partners, you may select the appropriate "opt-out" option each time we ask you for Identifying Information.
We will keep your Identifying Information private unless such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property; or (c) enforce any agreement between us and you. We provide you with the capability to transmit your Identifying Information via secured and encrypted channels if you use a similarly equipped web browser. We store your Identifying Information on servers we control and share it only as sections 3 and 13 describe.
In order to ensure that all of your Identifying Information is correct and up-to-date, at any time you may contact us and request your Identifying Information. Please include your User name and Password in any request for your Identifying Information. You may then: (a) review and update your Identifying Information that we have already collected; (b) choose whether or not you wish us to send you information about our company, or promotional material from some of our resellers or partners; or (c) choose whether or not you wish us to share some of your Identifying Information with third parties.
You must promptly notify us if your User name or Password is lost, stolen or used without permission. Please contact us. In such an event, we will cancel User Name or Password and update our records accordingly.
The Site contains links to other web-sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web-sites.
We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy, simply by posting such change, update or modification on the Site. Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.
We do not seek to solicit information from anyone under the age of thirteen (a "Child"). If a Child submits information to us through any part of our Web site, and we know that the person submitting the information is a Child, we will not use it for any purpose. We will delete the information as soon as we discover it and we will not disclose it to third parties.

This policy also covers the MapWise app for iPhone, available on the App Store. The app uses the same MapWise account as the Site. When you create an account or sign in, we receive your name and email address, including an Apple Hide My Email relay address if you choose one with Sign in with Apple. Favorites, uploaded map layers and the searches you run are stored with your account so they work in the app and on the Site.
If you subscribe to MapWise Pro through the App Store, Apple handles the payment and we receive the subscription status and transaction identifier needed to unlock Pro on your account. We never see your payment card.
Crash and performance reports are optional. If you turn them on in the app, crash details and a hashed identifier for your account are sent to our error-reporting service so we can fix problems. You can change this at any time in the app's Settings.
Location is used on your phone to center the map and show parcels near you. It never leaves your device. The parcels and map areas you look at are sent to our servers to fetch data, not your position.
You can delete your account from the app: Account, Profile, Delete Account. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period and a reactivation link is emailed to you. If you signed in with Apple, the app asks Apple to revoke its access at the same time.
We use outside services to see how visitors use the Site and to measure our advertising. Each service handles the data it receives under its own privacy policy.
"Do Not Share My Info" at the bottom of each page opts you out in your current browser. From the next page you open:
Your browser stores the choice, so it does not carry over to another browser or device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
