Upload Custom Logos

Upload a PNG logo in MapWise's Drawing Tools and swap any drawn point to display it, so presentation maps show your own brand or facility marks instead of a generic symbol.

The logo must be a PNG no larger than 500×500 pixels. MapWise rejects anything else server-side.

1. Where do I get a PNG logo?

  1. Search online for your logo followed by PNG (e.g. "Courtyard by Marriott logo PNG").
  2. Right-click the image and choose Save Image As. Store it in Downloads or your desktop.
  3. Confirm the file is .png and no larger than 500×500 pixels. MapWise's server checks both the file type and the dimensions and rejects anything outside those limits. Transparent backgrounds look best on the map.

You should now have a PNG file ready to upload, 500×500px or smaller.

2. How do I open a Drawing Tools project?

  1. In the map viewer, click the globe-with-pencil icon (tooltip Drawing Tools) on the taskbar.
  2. Click Manage Projects. Right-click Personal (or Group) and choose Add Project.
  3. Type a name (e.g. "Courtyard Project") and press Enter. The project activates immediately. There's no "Load Project" or "Done" click needed to finish creating it. (Load Project is a separate button for reopening a project you made earlier.)

You should now see Active: Courtyard Project (or whatever you named it) in the toolbar.

Drawing Projects window with the Personal and Group folders, used to create the project a logo point will belong to.

3. How do I add a point for the logo?

  1. Click the Draw Point tool (tooltip: "Draw Point - Click on map to draw a point.") and click the location where the logo should appear.
  2. Left-click the new point (an ordinary click, not a right-click) to open its style window, titled Edit Point Style.

You should now see the Edit Point Style window for the point you just placed.

Drawing Tools toolbar with the Draw Point icon highlighted among the four feature buttons.

4. How do I upload and select the logo?

  1. In the Edit Point Style window, choose the Logo Graphic radio button (the other option is Point Marker, the default symbol).
  2. Click Upload Logo Image to open the Upload Logos window, click Select a File, and locate your PNG.
  3. Give it a descriptive name and click Save Changes. MapWise confirms with "File(s) Uploaded" under a "Success" title.
  4. Your logo now appears in the logo drop-down list. Select it to apply it to the point.

You should now see your logo image rendered on the map at the point's location.

If the file isn't a PNG, MapWise rejects it with "Logo image must be a valid PNG." If it's larger than 500×500 pixels, it's rejected with "Image dimensions too large. Must be less than 500x500 pixels."

5. How do I change the logo size?

  1. In the Edit Point Style window, open the Logo Size: dropdown.
  2. Choose from the four options, in order: Original, Small, Medium, Large.
  3. Click the point again at any time to reopen this window and pick a different size.

You should now see the logo redraw on the map at the size you chose.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use transparent PNGs for a seamless overlay on aerial imagery.
  • Keep the source image at or under 500×500 pixels. MapWise rejects larger files outright, so there's no benefit to uploading a bigger original.
  • Name each logo clearly (e.g. "Courtyard Logo White") so it's easy to find again in the drop-down list.
